My Approach

Please feel free to call at any time, or go here for other ways to contact me.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of California since 1999, although I have been working in various capacities in this field for over 20 years.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC Irvine, and my Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from DePaul University in Chicago.

In my career, I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children in a wide variety of settings, from outpatient clinics to residential treatment centers. I have sought out additional specialized training and experience in the skills needed to work effectively with children and families. To see my complete Curriculum Vitae, click here.

My therapeutic approach focuses very much on the here-and-now. While events in your past certainly played some role in your present distress, the past can not be changed.

I believe the primary goal of psychotherapy is to teach you the tools you need to change the current patterns that are causing you problems. I also have special training and experience working with children and adolescents. While the techniques used with youths are obviously different from those used with adults, the goal remains the same: to provide the tools that will bring about positive change.

I take great personal satisfaction in helping people cope with difficult times and make positive changes in their lives. Call or email me if you’d be interested in letting me help you, as well.
